The Ministers of Health and Agriculture have valued the good coordination work between the administrations to quickly detect and report any outbreaks associated with primary activity.
The Minister of Health, Salvador Illa, and the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Luis Planas, have met the autonomous communities to analyse the weekly evolution of the epidemiological situation of COVID-19 in the agricultural sector, with special monitoring of the grape harvest, fruit and vegetable harvesting and slaughterhouses.
Illa and Planas appreciated the results of the strategy for early detection, surveillance and control of COVID-19 agreed between the government and the autonomous communities, as it has been noted a reduction of outbreaks associated with the agricultural sector.
In recent weeks, a decrease in the notification of outbreaks and associated cases in the agricultural sector has been observed. Up to now, 9.9% of all outbreaks and associated cases occur in the agricultural sector.
