A graduate in Veterinary Medicine from the Complutense University of Madrid and a graduate in Business Management, Cristina is currently the Head of the Area of Preclinical and Clinical Development and Centralized Procedures at the Spanish Agency of Medicines and Medical Devices.
Since 2014, she has been coordinating the development of the “National Action Plan for the reduction of antibiotic resistance risks in Human/Veterinary Medicine” (PRAN). She oversees strategic actions such as surveillance of veterinary antibiotic consumption, reduction programs, and annual reports for the PRAN.
Since 2005, she has represented Spain in the European Committee for Veterinary Medicinal Products (CVMP), contributing to the coordination of the evaluation of authorizations, post-authorization activities, and recommendations for maximum residue limits.
Since 2017, she has chaired the Efficacy Working Party (EWP) of the CVMP, leading the preparation of scientific and regulatory guidelines for the marketing authorization of veterinary medicinal products.
