Arabian Purebred

The Arabian horse was born in the desert, between the Red Sea and the Persian Gulf, and northwards to parts of Iran and Iraq. Archaeologists and historians have not been able to pinpoint the exact time and place of this birth. However, there are reasonable indications that Arabian horses were domesticated in this geographical area 1,500 BC. The Arabian horse has been subjected to a proven system of selection by man for 350 generations.

The Arabian is the oldest and only purebred that exists, being the origin of all modern, light and warm-blooded horse breeds (English thoroughbred, Anglo-Arabian, Spanish-Arabian, Lipizzaner, Morgan, Trackene, and a long etc.).

GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS

The Arabian is the oldest purebred (asil) horse in the world and its blood runs strongly in most of the modern horse and pony breeds, including the English thoroughbred.

It is a horse of extraordinary beauty, full of quality, vigour, elegance, dignity, and refined power.

Its exquisite head and high tail carriage are characteristic of the breed. Without these distinguishing characteristics, without type, its identity is lost. Type and conformation are essential, one alone is not enough and if he has charisma, so much the better. This presence, or charisma, is a distinguishing feature of the elite Arabian horse.

The Arabian is gentle, kind, and affectionate but also fiery and very intelligent. This may be due, in part, to their long coexistence with man, in times of war and in times of peace. Stallions should be full of vigour and fire, but at the same time docile and noble.

The breed is also renowned for its courage, strong constitution, and great endurance.

PRODUCTION CHARACTERISTICS AND EXPLOITATION SYSTEMS

Its most outstanding aptitude is its enormous resistance combined with its speed, due to the fact that it was selected with a view to withstanding the harsh conditions of the desert.

Given that its most significant characteristic is endurance, the Raid is the discipline in which it performs most easily, standing out from the other breeds.

In many countries on different continents, there are also horse races reserved for purebred Arabian horses.

It is a breed which, due to its origin, adapts perfectly to any geographical area, even the harshest. It should not be forgotten that it is the most widespread breed in the world.

GEOGRAPHICAL DISTRIBUTION

This horse breed is distributed throughout the national territory.
